As I discussed yesterday, it is important to have a plan. I recently organized my favorite recipes in a three ring binder. I will usually print out recipes that I like from different websites, but I needed a convenient place to store them. I used some cheap dividers and separated the recipes into a few different categories.
Now when it comes time to plan meals for the week, I review the sales flyers, and find recipes that include the items on sale for the week. Check out the meal planner/grocery list on my download page. I compile my grocery list, and place the recipes in my planner for the week. Now everything is planned, I have saved money by purchasing the sale items, and I will have all of the ingredients at home. No more emergency runs to the grocery store! This saves money and time. I can adjust my meal plan according to our schedules. For example, if we have a very busy night, I will probably make something quick and easy like frozen ravioli and a salad.
